Alert | | I know Ryan's on last Wed. night has $2 domestic drafts. Anyone know what other bars have beer specials during their poker events? There's nothing like cheap beer and free poker. | | --- Brad

What venues do you play at? Champs, Reeds, and Mexican Bergeys all run pretty nice specials during the games. | | Just Ace King

Alert | Agreed Doug. Most venues in eastern have great specials and I'm looking forward to partaking in them again soon. The only one that really doesn't is Peppers, but they also pay $100 cash, $50 gc, $25 gc, so no complaints there!

What venues are you playing that poker players have to pay to play? Treehouses with coconut milk doesn't count as venues or drink specials.

Alert | I don't know if 3rd and Walnut has any "specials" during poker, but their drinks are so incredibly cheap all the time, I'd have to say they might be the best deal in town.
Got 2 drafts, including a guiness, a rum and coke and 2 shots of Yager for about $13 this past Sunday afternoon during pool league.

I agree with you PL. Only mentioned the Trappe specials because some folks drink it, didn't say I did. I stick with Myers or Morgan while there. And I second the remark about 3rd and Walnut, probably the best bargains for food and drink on the tour. Hell, I've even seen them provide hot water for someone who brought their own teabag. Great people there just a tad short handed for the games. | | herb

Alert | Beer is an essential component of Central cuisine. Excerpts from one of hundreds of recipes:
Whether it's "Chicken on the Throne", "Beer Can Chicken", "Beer Butt Chicken", or "Beer in the Butt Chicken" this technique for cooking is gaining popularity since it produces such a tender and juicy chicken.
Open beer can and take several gulps (make them big gulps so that the can is half full). Place beer can on a solid surface. Grabbing a chicken leg in each hand, plunk the bird cavity over the beer can. Transfer the bird-on-a-can to your grill and place in the center of the grate, balancing the bird on its 2 legs and the can like a tripod.
I assume you use a dead chicken but who knows, it's Central
