------------------------------------

Congratulations to our two winners, Rich Lipson and Michael Dolan, read through the blog for hand recaps and the results.

------------------------------------

WE HAVE AN EASTERN CHAMPION!!  Rich Lipson finishes a big comeback on this final hand.

5:41  Blinds are 1500/3000, antes of 500.  Peter pushes all in preflop and Rich makes the call.  Peter shows A4 off and Rich shows AQ off.  The flop brings [ A 8 4 ].  Peter flops two pair.  The turn brings [ 9 ] and the river brings.....  QUEEEEEEN.    And we have an Eastern Champion!

5:32  Rich was down to 10000 chips and preflop limps bring a board of [K 6 2].  Rich moves all in and Peter makes the call, showing K7, and Rich shows 2,3.  The turn is a J, and the River brings another 2 for Rich as he rivers again to stay alive.

5:28  Rich and Peter get all the money in preflop once again.  Peter shows 9 10 offsuit and Rich shows A5 offsuit.  The flop comes ⎖ 5 4] Turn ΐ] River Γ].  Rich's A5 was the best to start and the best to finish.  Rich doubles up to over 20k and we are still rolling.

5:18  A huge win for Peter brings him very close to the championship.  A preflop all in of Ad4s was called by Rich with AhJd.
Flop  [Ks Kd 2d]  Turn Ζd]  River Δd].
Peter makes the nut flush to Rich's King hi flush.  Rich is now down to approximately 14,000 while Peter has 66,000.

5:15  Heads up action continues.  Many hands have been played but few have seen a flop or a turn.  Chip stacks are mostly even with the edge still to Rich.

5:02  Heads up action continues as Peter chips away at Rich's chip lead.  Dave Kaneff chugs a Baybreeze.

4:52  Jeff was eliminated in 3rd place as Rich hits the board with his K4 vs Jeff's A6.  Jeff makes a 6 on the flop, but Rich hits a K to move ahead.  Jeff couldn't catch back up.  Rich and Peter go heads up for the Eastern Championship.

4:50 Peter doubles up through Rich.  Rich raised up preflop and Peter immediately states all in.  Rich takes time and the clock was called.  Rich decides to make the call and shows A8 while Peter turns over his AK of diamonds.  An ace hits the flop and and runner runner diamond gives Peter the nuts.  Peter is now over 25000 in chips.

4:45 Chip Count
Peter - 11,500
Jeff - 13,500
Rich - 55,000

4:43 Jeff doubles up through Peter for a small amount.  Peter was on a flush draw against Jeff's top pair.  Jeff makes 2 pair on the turn and no Heart fell for Peter.

4:35  Rich makes a big double up through Peter.  All the money goes in preflop, Rich felts A10 and Peter shows 77.  The flop comes AA2 and Peter was drawing thin.  Two bricks come and Rich wins big.

4:28  Tom McMenamin is up to 5 beers.

4:26  WE HAVE A CENTRAL REGION CHAMP!  Gloria couldn't complete the heads up comeback and Michael Dolan has completed his sweep of the Grand Championship Table.  Congratulations to Michael and stay posted for the final of the Eastern table!!

4:25  Both Darriss and Jason fall at the Eastern Table in consecutive hands.  Rich, Jeff, and Peter are left standing.

4:21  Tony Garofolo got rivered on his all in attempt.  Tony moved all in and was called by Peter and Rich.  The board showd J86, 3, 10.  Rich moved all in at the river and Peter folded.  Tony shows JK and Rich rivered a set of 10s sending Tony goes to the rail.

4:17  Terry makes her exit from the Central table with KJ of diamonds against Michael's A10 offsuit.  The board played QQ973 and the Ace high was good to move Michael and Gloria into heads up action.

4:16  Jason Twelves is crippled as his AQ ran into AK.  Jason was playing his cold deck to the best of his ability just waiting for a chance to move, but when he did, he ran into AK.

4:10  Terry Dooner has doubled twice through Gloria after Gloria's big win.  Once was with Q4 vs QJ and Terry felts a 4, then immediatly following again with J10 vs Gloria's A3.  Terry hit a 10 and Gloria couldn't find another Ace.  3 players still remain.

4:08  Gloria makes a big double up through Michael.  Michael was in full bluff mode on a hand where he led out 3k on the flop, 3k on the turn, and then an instant all in on the river.  Gloria makes a straight on the river and wins big.

4:00  Terry and Gloria got to a river card at the Central Table.  All 3 players limped preflop.  Flop was J94.  Gloria checks, Terry moves all in for 3075, Michael folds and Gloria calls.  Terry shows J5 and Gloria shows J7.  The turn was a 2 and the river was a 4... pairing the board and chopping the pot.  They both live to fight another hand.

3:52  Lea Idell makes her stand with Jc9c and Darriss makes the call with KQ and his K high holds up and that will send Lea to the rail.  6 players left at the Eastern table and after Terry Dooner doubled up at the Central table, there are still 3 players remaining there.

3:47  At the Eastern Table, Jeff Morgan more that tripled up.  All in preflop was Lea - JJ, Tony - QQ, Jeff AK suited.  The flop comes 732, turn 5, river 4, giving the wheel and the hand to Jeff.  Lea and Tony are crippled and down to 1000 and 2500 respectively.

3:31  Back to immediate action after the break.  Dave Kaneff makes his exit from the Eastern table and Vickie makes her exit from the Central region.  Darriss limps in preflop and Dave raises all-in on the little blind.  Darriss tanks and decides to make his stand.  Darriss calls and turns over 33 and Dave turnes over 4 8 offsuit.  The flop brings 37K and a set for Darriss.  The turn is another K and Dave is drawing dead.

Vickie Dixon was a victim of the Central table killer, Michael Dolan himself.  Michael is now sitting on over 49,000 and with 3 players left, he is the odds on favorite.

3:21 BREAK

Chip Counts
Eastern table:
Jeff Morgan - 5000
Darriss Tinson - 4675
Peter James - 32,600
Tony Garofolo - 8750
Lea Idell - 8975
Dave Kaneff - 3925
Rich Lipson - 9800
Jason Twelves - 6275

Central Table:
Vickie Dixon - 6950
Michael Dolan - 41,750
Terry Dooner - 9050
Gloria Witmer - 12,250

3:20  Michael claims his next victim as he his steamrolling through the Central table right now.  Michael has taken out Scott Care right before the break.  We're getting an up-to-date chip count at the break.

3:12  Peter James has taken out Susan Hales at the Eastern table.  Board was 10c 9d 6d, Ad, Ac.  Susan turned a Jack high flush showing Jd8d and Peter rivered Aces full of sixes with his Ah6c.  Eight players remain at the Eastern table.

3:12  Dale Foose was elimanated at the Central region table by Michael Dolan.  Michael continues his drive forward as there are now 5 players left at the Central Table:  Vickie Dixon, Michael Dolan, Gloria Witmer, Scott Care, and Terry Dooner.

3:06  Vickie Dixon has more than doubled up at the Central Table.  Dale Foose raised preflop, Scott Care reraised, Vickie Dixon pushed all in for less than Scott's raise.  Dale folded his hand and got away.  Scott shows AJ off suit and Vickie shows KK.  Dale stated that he also folded AJ.  The board felted 6681010 and Vickie took it down.

3:01  Central region table is now down to 6 players.  Michael Dolan has picked off another player and has a commanding chip lead right now.  Doug Shirk has made his exit when his straight fell to Michael's bigger straight.  Michael took down the following pot as well on a J74 flop.  Terry Dooner led out 2000 and Michael went all-in.  Terry folded and Michael showed AJ.

2:48  Doug Herr makes his exit from the Central Region.  Doug was holding KQ and saw the flop of K54.  Doug pushed all in and was insta-called by the AK of Michael Dolan.  Michael continues to add to his chip lead as we are reaching the middle of the 3rd level.

2:47  We lose our first player in the Eastern Region.  Alisha Reynolds became extremely shortstacked after her JJ couldn't catch up to Rich Lipson's AA.  Alisha pushed her last 1000 a few hands later and couldn't double up.

2:30  Another player has made their exit from the Central region.  David Kaminski held AJ against the A9 of Scott Care.  Scott rivered a straight and sent David to the rail.

2:18  Eric Sagnor was the first player eliminated from the tournament and it came at the Central Region's table.  Eric was setting up his AA for a big win but the QQ of Michael Dolan peeled the Q on the turn to crack the monster.  Michael takes the early chip lead.

2:00  We are under way as we are burning and turning the first hand.  Good luck to everyone.  Fan favorites at each table seem to be Rich Lipson from the Eastern table and Terry Dooner at the Central table.

Really appreciate the updates Griff.  The AA vs QQ a terrible result for my pick.  I didn't feel like driving down in the rain by myself, so I really appreciate you keeping us in the mix.

Interesting stuff, keep up the good work.  Has made watching the Flyers game a bit easier to stomach.

By the way, when will the points be updated?  (just kidding)

Never got a final update on the Tom McMenamin beer count.

But seriously...

Congrats to both winners, and all who got the opportunity to  play.

Griff,

Great job at keeping those of us that couldn't make it feel close to the championship. Congratulations to the winners, although my favorites didn't win, I know they represented well.

Best wishes to both RPT players in the big event.

Alison

For the Central Region table....besides one felting by Scott Care, Michael Dolan eliminated every player from the Central Region table. It was definitely his day. He doubled up early cracking those Aces and never forfeited the chip lead the whole tournament.

After Michael won his table, the Eastern table battled for over an hour more to get down to their winner. Rich and Peter fought an incredible heads up match, frequently sending each player into the tank. Rich battled a cold deck for most of the tournament and only got involved when necessary. Others felt the same way but only Rich was able to capitolize and win the important hands. Everyone in attendance thought the tournament was pretty much over when Peter made his Ace high flush to win the biggest pot of the tournament (almost 70,000 of the 80,000 chips in play), but Rich wouldn't be deterred. He found a handful of aces in his hands and the sun shined upon many rivers to keep his tourney alive.

A fun day to all, and a huge round of applause for Gloria Witmer and Peter James who gave it everything the could but fell just short of the title. I'm sure I'll see all of the qualifiers back at the tables soon enough! Enjoy!
