A quick history lesson. In December 2020, a plan to upgrade and streamline our Championship events were already in place. In April of 2020 at the end of the current PCT (Players Championship Tournament) qualifying season and at the end of the Satellite Qualifying season, an announcement was scheduled to introduce players to the New League Championship structure, effectively known as The Riverchasers League Championship: Season 33. Then… in March of 2020 our League, and the world, was put into a spin.
Now, just about 3 years later, the live league is re-growing. Venues in our area are rebuilding their entertainment event schedule, staffing at venues is becoming more abundant and efficient, and brand new venues are opening their doors to local customers. We are excited to bring our promotion to these great venues to help boost their sales and bring some fun and excitement through their doors every week.
With the Bar Poker Open World Championship hosting an unprecedented upcoming $100,000 GTD Grand Prize ($400,000 estimated total prize pool) in Las Vegas 2023, now is also the time to launch the Riverchasers League Championship. We can’t wait for Vegas and this HUGE prize pool, BUT, at the same time, we want to make sure that our local players once again can hoist their own Trophy every season.
The League Championship will be hosted locally with the largest local Championship prizes of any Bar League in the Southeast PA and surrounding area. The League Championship will only be open to Live League players who qualify in one of two easy ways. Best of luck and let’s crown a new Riverchasers Champion!
RIVERCHASERS LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP
QUALIFYING SEASON 33: 1/1/23 - 4/23/23
The qualifying rules are a combination of the PCT and The Satellite Championship events from our past special events.
♠️ QUALIFYING OPTION 1: Win & You’re In!
That’s Right! Just like the Satellite promo… WIN AND YOU’RE IN! Win any live league event during the qualifying period and you are invited to the League Championship. Sounds easy… and some people make it look easy… but take a seat at any live game and see if you have what it takes to scoop all the chips that night. Just 1 win and you got a stack of chips waiting for you at the League Championship! Additional wins do not add additional rewards in regards to the League Championship, but you do accrue Riverchasers League Points, Bar Poker Open Super League Points, Bar Poker Open Tokens, and Venue awarded daily prizes.
♠️ QUALIFYING OPTION 2: League Leaderboard
Of course there was going to be a points leaderboard! This is the heart and soul of how Riverchasers Championship events were founded for over 17 years. The number of qualifying players will vary each season based on how many events have been hosted throughout the season with the goal of inviting approximately the top 25% of the points-leaderboard.

As the ultimate reward for our event winners and the players at the top of our leaderboard, you can now start the League Championship with a Double Stack of Chips.
